Whitworth On RSCS Podium At Interlagos

Round 2 of the 16th season of the Ricmotech Sportscar Series saw a lot of intense action on the twisty and technical Brazilian circuit. As the TCR class gets worked in, some expected the multiclass action to cool down as it was felt the Audi RS3 LMS would not be able to get through the tricky corners at the same pace as the slower classes, allowing breathing room - such was not the case, and within 15 minutes of the drop of the green flag the classes began to find each other. Suffice to say, the race organizers didn't give out a lot of bonus points for keeping incident counts low!

Our TCR team had a fairly good night overall against some really good competition, as some of iRacing's best rallycross drivers have joined the series to compete in the class. F4H Racing, Apex Racing (yes, the official team of the series' broadcast partner), and NerdworX Racing have all joined the fray and are forcing our team to really step up their game. Eric Violett and Brandon Whitworth led the charge for D2D, with Brandon scoring his second top 3 in as many races. Both drivers fought hard to improve their positions throughout the event, each moving up 2 spots from where they started in the traffic heavy event. Chad Parker had an early spin that cost him 2 spots overall, and Bobby Childs botched his pit stop erasing a possible P7 finish to only move up one spot from his P9 starting position.

The ST drivers also had good runs, but a setup with too much camber led to a tire wear issue and worse finishing positions than the team deserved. Andrew List had a successful return to the series after dealing with serious technical issues for the last 2 months, leading the race at one point. He and David Paton both finished 2 positions ahead of where they started. Chris Thorman had a hard race, being caught up in a very early incident and moving him down the order and out of the draft almost from the start. New driver Jacob Beasley was unable to race while he recovers from surgery, and we continue to wish him the best on a speedy recovery.
