Have you ever raced in real life?
I did a little motocross a long time ago.
How long have you been sim racing?
4 years.
Is iRacing the first sim you've run? How did you start sim racing?
Yes; my step-son was racing in iRacing and wanted a cockpit for Christmas. That was the first I had ever heard of iRacing, but by the first of the year I was racing more than he was.
Do you currently race in any sims other than iRacing?
No.
Describe your best or favorite race you've run in iRacing:
My P4 finish at Bathurst in the Ricmotech SportsCar Series at Bathurst comes to mind - to finish that well with the high level of competition in the series is a heck of a feeling!
When I started iRacing, I did pretty much everything wrong. I was always caught up in someone else's mistake, no matter how hard I tried everything seemed to go bad. Then I was invited to join Xtreme, and my first race with them I wondered why anyone there would invite me to join them as I was nothing more than a rolling chicane. I was slower than everyone else there. The guys at Xtreme were great and always tried to help me and teach me what they saw me doing wrong and I improved somewhat though I was still at the back of the field. Then David Paton came along and offered his input, followed me around the track and helped me with setups. That was the beginning of a great friendship as David and I started sharing information and running special event together. It also improved my driving and finishing immensely. David and I had worked together for a little over a year I think when Bobby and Andrew (Jim) along with D2D came knocking. With the addition of D2D along with David's continual coaching I have managed to improve greatly from where I started. The team practices together frequently and that along with the coaching from the other drivers is a huge bonus for a slow guy like myself.
