D2D 1-2 In RSCS TCR at Twin Ring Motegi

Round 5 of season 16 of the Ricmotech Sportscar Series saw D2D putting on the full press at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. Practice saw the team near or at the top of the TCR leaderboard each session, and that pace held true into the race. Eric Violett started from the pole and led every lap virtually unchallenged. He and Brandon Whitworth engineered a great setup, and despite having to fight from P3 Brandon worked the pit strategy to perfection to get to P2. Brandon had hoped to battle Eric for the win in the closing minutes as they built a gap, but the drivers were too evenly matched and the 89 held on to the top spot. Bobby Childs had a solid P5, finishing where he started the event, despite some tough battles and heavy traffic.

In ST, Jacob Beasley came home a respectable P6 in a very talented field. He was outpacing the 09 of Jordie Fike at a solid clip, but couldn't close the distance for P5 after issues in traffic and a long pit stop. ST class DAP instructor David Paton had an early exit in a promising event, being the victim of a brake failure experienced by Greg Mac in the number 2 eSport Race entry; David was unavailable for comment after the incident. Team owner Jim List was unable to make the start, but climbed on top of the pit box to help manage the race for the D2D squad in both classes.

Chad Parker and Chris Thorman were unable to compete in this round, but should be back in action soon.

This is the first win this season for D2D in either of the Ricmotech Sportscar Championship series. Great job Eric and Brandon!
